The Waukesha Blazers Announce Memorial Scholarship Winners.
Blazers supporting graduating high school seniors in their post-secondary educational pursuits.

Waukesha, WI, February 7th, 2025 — The Waukesha Blazers are pleased to announce five winners of its Memorial Scholarship.  Each winner has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship. 

Scholarship Winners

                                                                                                                                                                                            Skye Meler: Participated in the Blazers fastpitch program from Rookies through 16U and was a member of the softball team at Waukesha North High School where she graduated in 2024. Skye is competing at the collegiate level at College of Lake County.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
  Kaelin McMahon: Blazers fastpitch participant from 10U to 14U. Kaelin competed in softball at Waukesha West High School where she graduated in 2024. She is attending the University of Iowa.  
  Nate Stoeck: Played in the Blazers baseball program starting with the Rookies program and throughout middle school. Nate graduated from Waukesha West High school and was a member of the basketball team. He is attending the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.  
  Christopher DeCorte: Blazers baseball player throughout middle school. Chris graduated from Waukesha West High School where he competed in Football and Lacrosse. He is attending the University of Wisconsin - Madison.  
  Emmitt Hoyt: Participated in Blazers baseball starting with Rookies and throughout elementary and middle school. Emmitt graduated from Waukesha South High School and attends WCTC where he is studying in the Fire Protection Technician and EMS program.  

The scholarship is designed to support former club members who are graduating high school seniors planning to pursue a post-secondary education at either a 4-year college or 2-year technical/vocational school.  

The scholarships awarded are part of a five-year commitment by the Blazers to fund scholarships for former members pursuing higher education.  The scholarship will be funded by the Waukesha Blazers Memorial Fund.  The Memorial Fund was established in 2021 to support Blazers’ families and the Waukesha community that were impacted by the Waukesha Parade Tragedy.

The Waukesha Blazers are a community-based youth sports organization operating in the greater Waukesha area. The organization strives to create opportunities for as many kids as possible to play baseball and softball while learning good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect.  Over 500 youth baseball and softball players and their families are members of the Blazers organization.
